The Team
We are recruiting for a professional to take on the role of Compliance Officer, MiCA playing a key role within the European focused RegOps team and the Markets in Crypto-Assets application. The successful candidate will be involved in a full breadth of processes and will need to be open, inquisitive and willing to take ownership of delivery of a variety of different tasks.
The Opportunity
Assist in preparation of licence/registration applications, including playing a key role in in MiCA application
Act as the main point of contact for internal compliance queries
Develop, draft, implement and operationalise compliance policies and procedures required to be compliant with regulations across the EU
Assist in managing regulatory inquiries and exams, including document and data retrieval
Ensure the ongoing compliance of the European entities with all applicable regulatory requirements
Act as a trusted partner to Product, Design, Engineering and Markets teams to assist them to structure and launch products and services and controls
Oversee the implementation of new regulatory requirements as they arise
Monitor outsourced compliance functions
Assist in preparing reports for Committee and Board meetings on compliance related matters
Develop and deliver compliance training programs, ensuring employees are knowledgeable and aware of their obligations.
Provide compliance advisory support and guidance to COs and EU Regional Compliance team on new and existing regulations and rules, best practices and compliance with internal procedures and directives.
Continually seek out and implement efficiencies and process improvements
Collaborate with legal and other compliance professionals on Legal and Compliance projects related to virtual asset services businesses
Oversee compliance risk assessments and testing and monitoring programs in accordance with regulatory expectations and best practices
Oversee effectiveness of internal controls and take remedial steps to mitigate residual risks outside of the firm’s risk appetite.
Partner with the firm’s data privacy officers on relevant matters
Skills you should HODL
Significant second-line Compliance experience in a regulated bank, crypto exchange or payments firm
Significant regulatory experience including in relation to VASP licensing/ registrations
Demonstrated ability to effectively analyse risk and apply sound judgement in a timely manner
Practical knowledge of compliance risk management techniques
Experience and/or passion for crypto preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
7+ years of experience in Compliance/Risk related business functions;
Strong knowledge of regulations, particularly in EU AML, EMI, MiCAR, Travel Rule and MiFID requirements
