We are responsible for securing all of LinkedIn’s microservices, big data, and large scale data systems such as Kafka.

As a Sr. Manager of the Security Infrastructure team at LinkedIn, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to set the vision for our security infrastructure architecture, features, and capabilities. This is a high-profile, high-impact role that will touch every aspect of our engineering organization, and we are looking for experienced professionals who have a proven track record of leading engineering teams that can design and develop large-scale security infrastructure by collaborating with teams across a large organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for designing and delivering solutions that will enable LinkedIn to scale its security infrastructure and services to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base. This will involve managing a team of experienced engineers to develop and operate solutions that are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will also need to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Lead and manage the engineering team with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent.
• As a hands-on manager, you will participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.
• Drive execution of product and technology road-map by collaborating with team, product management, software architects, and business partners.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for craftsmanship.
• Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology road map.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders across the company to derive crucial decisions and deliver timely outcomes.
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
• Design and deliver world-class high-performance authentication, authorization, secret management, and cryptography solutions for our data centers.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience
• 7+ years industry experience in software design, development and delivery
• 5+ years of security experience
• 5+ years programming experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Golang, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or Ruby.
• Experienced in large-scale compute infrastructure and large scale distributed systems
• 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
• Experience managing managers

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of hands-on technical management experience
• 8+ years of industry experience
• 2+ years of experience working with machine learning/artificial intelligence
• Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
• Successful track record of managing teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
• Hire and retain world-class engineers by providing career growth, mentoring, and high impact projects, while taking intelligent risks to improve the way work is done
• Experience with building and deploying PKI and key management at scale
• Experience in building and deploying application authentication and authorization infrastructure (e.g OAuth)

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $171,000 - $280,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
