We're looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our growing team, where you'll be at the forefront of defending our systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities. In this role, you will actively monitor our infrastructure, respond to security incidents, build tooling to help detect issues early, and collaborate with teams to implement robust security controls. Your expertise in identifying and responding to security incidents will be crucial in ensuring the safety of our company, platform, and users.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor systems and networks to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Investigate security incidents, analyze root cause issues, and develop effective remediation plans.
- Perform log analysis, threat hunting, and security incident triage to identify potential vulnerabilities and breaches.
- Deploy, build, and manage security monitoring tools to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
- Participate in security assessments and compliance audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Manage and maintain relationships with security researchers and help oversee our bug bounty program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring:

At least 5 years of experience in a security operations role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of security incident response methodologies, log analysis, and threat hunting techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex security incidents.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies and related concepts.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Strong scripting or programming skills for tooling and automation.

Nice to haves:

- Previous experience working at web3 or crypto companies, with a focus on security.
- Experience working in anomaly detection, fraud prevention, risk management, trust and safety, or within heavily targeted industries.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$180,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Magic Eden’s equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.
