We're building the company which will de-risk the largest infrastructure build-out in history.
When people finance GPU clusters, the datacenters housing them, and the infrastructure powering them, they need "offtake" - meaning someone has signed a contract to lease the cluster for a period of time before its even built.
Financing a GPU cluster is inherently risky, since margins are thin and volumes are huge. Lenders don't want to take on the risk that cluster developers can't repay their loan, and cluster developers really don't want to risk not selling their cluster. As a result, risk is offloaded to the customer using fixed-price long-term contracts.
If you don't mitigate this customer risk, there's a bubble. This isn't SaaS anymore - application layer companies sign multi-year contracts for computer and inference, but sell to customers on monthly subscriptions. If you mess up a purchase, it's game over: a minor shift in your revenue growth rate might mean the difference between profit or bankruptcy. But what if companies could exit their contract by selling it back to the market?
Otherwise, as AI scales, compute only becomes available to folks who can effectively take on that risk. A 2-person startup in a San Francisco Victorian can't realistically sign a 5-year take or pay contract on $100m supercomputers. But they may be able to buy the month of liquidity that someone else sold back.
So that's what we make: a liquid market for GPU offtake.
The Role
We are building our accounting function from scratch, and we are looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to help lead that effort.
This is a 0→1 opportunity with broad ownership. You will report into and work side-by-side with the Head of Finance to establish foundational accounting systems, processes, and controls, while also running the day-to-day accounting operation. Your work will directly enable accurate, timely financial reporting during a period of rapid growth, evolving business models, and increasing scale. You will own the accounting truth.
This is not your typical accounting role. If you are energized by building rather than maintaining, and want real influence over how things are designed and run, this role gives you the chance to shape the accounting function, and beyond. You will also partner with our Marketplace Engineering team to inform and influence product features that power the SF Compute platform.
What You’ll Do:
Core Accounting & Close
Own the monthly close process end-to-end, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Continuously improve the speed, quality, and scalability of the close
Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and reviews
Systems, Controls & Scale
Working with our external Netsuite consultant, optimize NetSuite flow with a strong focus on automation and clean data flows between our internal databases and external service providers
Support the design and implementation of internal controls and audit-ready processes
Partner with the Head of Finance on audit preparation and external advisor coordination
Operational Finance
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management
Support intercompany accounting, eliminations, and the future rollout of a formal consolidation process
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts in partnership with Finance leadership
Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate with Operations and other teams to support accurate reporting, cost visibility, and compliance
Help translate business activity into clean, reliable financial data
Part of your mandate is to assist the Marketplace Engineering team in exploring or fine tuning our marketplace features so they are loved by our customers, you may even expose yourself to the world of product management if that interests you!
Team & Future Leadership
Without slowing down our pace and growth, play a key role in defining processes, documentation, and best practices that will support future company growth
